Bed

The bedroom is connected to to our sexual, secretive, instinctual and repressed side of our emotions. The bed relates to sexual pleasure, rest; the holy place in which we meet oneself and or another person deeply and passionately.

A place of intimacy, Heb. 13:4, rest, or privacy, 2 Kings 6:12. If a person is sick in bed it can symbolize a sinful lifestyle, Ezek. 23:17. A fragrant, clean bed is symbolic of righteous living, Prov. 7:17

Since furniture suggests the ideas that we rest upon, to dream of something taking place on the bed can have associations with sexual ideas. The bed also symbolizes what we make of experience as in 'make our bed and lie in it.' As a furniture symbol, it has associations with the deepest part of our nature, what is not easily changed about us. Abed without covers in a dream represents travels, a wife, honor or a high rank. Sitting on abed in a dream means regaining power or authority over something one had lost control. If the bed has it covers on, then it means ruling over a group of hypocrites who live in heedlessness. If it is not covered, then it means a journey.
