Jungle

The jungle is a very symbolic place that resides in the dreams unconscious mind. A dense unexplored area that contains hidden mysteries and gems, but a place you can easily get lost and die. Like a forest what is found inside this area can be both rewarding or dangerous. The reason why animals are commonly found in the jungle in our dreams as it becomes a representation of our primate side – behaviors, instincts and urges are masked by animals wanting to be understood.

Since the setting of a dream embodies your 'inner landscape' - dreams that take place in a jungle setting can relate to how you explore your more wild or exotic self that seeks expression beyond the restrictions of conformity. It is common for dream themes to move into this more organic or earthy setting when you are going through a type of rebirth or actualizing (authentic) self expression. Trees can also relate to family dynamics. If the landscape is threatening - you may feel unsure about expressing your more 'animal' or authentic drives and passions. In a dream, a jungle means people one cannot benefit from their company. Among them there is an intruder, forjungles grow on plants intruding upon one another, behind which hunters hide to jump at their prey. If the jungle belongs to someone, then it represents enemies one will have to fight.
